Welcome!
A website that takes Kill Team statistics, and itself, incredibly seriously.
May 23, 2024
Welcome to Pretentious Plastic Ops!
Indeed, this site's primary function is to collect and analyze data for Kill Team to produce a better understanding of the game. (Additionally, as a junior full stack developer, I was looking for a good excuse to practice and grow my skill set.)
So here we are. 🧐
Going forward, you can expect to see:
- Monthly and quarterly updates of Kill Team statistics on the analytics page.
- Continual UI and data visualization updates. Often just for fun.
- An interest in expanding and improving key performance indicators that can better measure the game.
- The pursuit of more data sources for Kill Team.
- Deep dive articles into some of the less intuitive statistics being employed here.
- A general interest in game design and philosophy. As is expected of a pretentious war gamer.
What I'm not, and never will be, is a competitive war gamer who will give you tips and tricks on how to improve your game.
I can't help you win. I can barely win myself. I play almost exclusively Aeldari factions and it hasn’t been going well.
Instead, this site is committed to the analytical, the abstract, and of course, the pretentious.
So, again, Welcome! 🍻
Another round of special thanks to everyone who directly or indirectly made this site possible:
- Best Coast Pairing where the vast majority of this data is sourced from.
- Can You Roll A Crit who provides competitive commentary on these stats with his excellent Kill Team youtube channel.
- shadcn-ui for providing a react component library that isn't a component library. What a legend.
- timlrx for his NextJS starter blog. It was a nice platform to build off of.
And thanks to you for finding my site and actually making it to the end of this article. This site is ultimately dedicated to you and anyone else thorough enough to care about such a niche and esoteric thing. 💞
